The function of this facility is to service liquid helium and liquid nitrogen to researchers and laboratories at Northwestern University.

LIQUID NITROGEN
- Self-Serve: Liquid Nitrogen is distributed on a self-serve basis, in Tech Room EB42. Please see Steve for any problems encountered while attempting to dispense LN2.
LIQUID HELIUM
- Self-Serve: Liquid Helium is available on a self-serve basis, in Tech Room EB42, but dewars are filled only by Facility staff.
- Prior Notice: we would greatly appreciate having a week’s prior notice when you’re going to need Liquid Helium, though we can usually accommodate your needs on a much shorter time-frame. If you will be needing several dewars at one time, e.g. when cooling a cryostat for the first time or cooling down a magnet, please let us know as far in advance as possible, so that we can be sure there will be sufficient liquid available for you and for the other users.
